Flow Resistance Calculator - Poiseuille's Law

Flow-Resistance flow rate calculator

How to Calculate Flow Resistance

To calculate the flow resistance of a pipe using Poiseuille's Law, use the following formula:

R = (8 × μ × l) ÷ (π × r⁴)

Where:

  • R: Flow Resistance in Pa⋅s/m³
  • μ: Dynamic viscosity in Pa⋅s
  • l: Pipe length in meters
  • r: Radius of the pipe in meters
  • π: Pi constant (≈ 3.1416)

Use the form above to input the values, and the calculator will provide the required flow resistance.
